Important information about your car training

REGISTRATION

Please make sure to register in person or by phone for any safety trainings, since we offer only fixed dates and a limited number of places for individual participants. You will find the current dates for individuals in the menu 'Dates and booking requests'. Dates and prices for groups with 10 persons or more will be agreed on individually.

ACCOMPANYING PERSONS

Each driver may be accompanied by max. one person. Children below the age of 12 may definitely not be in the car during training. The Sachsenring Road Safety Centre will not take out any accident insurance for passengers. During driving safety training, accompanying persons are not permitted to drive a car themselves on the grounds of the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre. Only participants of a driving training course may be present at the theory seminar.
Please, DO NOT bring any pets to the driving safety training.

CLOTHES

Wearing clothes that do not limit your freedom of movement is an important aspect for feeling at home during the driving safety training on the Sachsenring. Choose a sportive and comfortable set of clothes and, please, do not wear any shoes with slippery soles or high-heels! It would be best to wear waterproof shoes, since you will often have to leave your car for explanations and most tracks are flooded. Therefore, it would also be advisable to bring a warm jacket, even in spring or autumn.

FOOD AND DRINK

Having a good time also means being offered nice food and drink in pleasant surroundings. The Sachsenring can offer this, too: Beierlein’s cafeteria and the Boxenstop restaurant are always places where you can relax. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or just some coffee in the afternoon – the friendly team of Beierlein’s cafeteria and the Boxenstop restaurant will be pleased to fulfil your culinary wishes.
The cost of food and drink is not included in the course fee.

CARS AND PREPARATION

Ideally, your own car should be used in driving safety training. This will enable you to use your new skills best in everyday traffic. Under winter conditions, all cars used for training purposes have to be equipped with winter tyres.
If desired, we can organise rental cars for you at the current rates.

Please remember the following when you get your car ready for the course:

Oil: The oil level should be between Min and Max.

Fuel: The tank should be half-full at least because having to refill would cost you valuable time.

Interior: All things that cannot be fastened should be removed; otherwise they might become missiles when you brake or steer hard. By the way: This rule applies to everyday driving, too.

Boot: Here, too, all hard and heavy things should be removed. Unfastened spare cans, attaché cases etc. will make not only unpleasant noise, they can also make dents into the sides of the boot!

PREREQUISITES

Every participant in a driving safety course on the Sachsenring has to have a valid driving licence. In order to participate in Perfection training 1, an Intensive car training on the Sachsenring or at one of our partner centres must have been completed. Participants of Perfection training 3 must have completed either Perfection training 1 or 2.

TRAINING FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

The practical parts of the training will take place on flooded slippery surfaces, which resemble conditions on roads covered with snow. Thus, cars tend to react quite strongly even at low speeds without putting much stress on vehicle or tyres.

Most tracks are equipped with speed-measuring devices. Therefore, every participant can see how even small changes in speed influence a car’s reaction.

In order to create realistic problem situations unexpectedly and without risk to driver or vehicle, several training tracks have computer-controlled water obstacles that may suddenly appear. Their variable use, which also depends on the training level, guarantees a smooth and unproblematic training.

During the practical parts, all participants are in radio contact with their instructor. Thus the latter can provide individual and situation-specific hints, thereby making the training interactive. Cause and effect can be explained immediately and in a practice-oriented way.
