Intensive training for bus drivers

Our one-day intensive training is the ideal driving safety programme for bus drivers who want to go beyond normal handling skills and intend to make the most of the technical driving support systems of their vehices.

In a theoretical introduction the instructor will discuss the most important aspects of driving physics with the participants.

Driving on various training tracks during the practical exercises, the participants will experience the influence of external factors on reaction time and stopping distance. They will learn about their own limits as well as about the physical limits of their vehicles - and so they will be able to assess and handle difficult situatioins better.

One of the most important goals of our training is to raise participants' awareness of critical situations because this will help them to spot dangers more quickly, thus being able to avoid them.

Main topics

  • Correct sitting position (seat belt, headrest) and its importance for active and passive safety
  • Correct visual and steering techniques and their importance for active safety
  • Optimum stopping distance on straights and downhill roads; factors influencing it
  • Understeer and oversteer: What causes them and how can they be avoided?
  • Optimum braking in emergencies / braking in corners
  • Swerving to avoid suddenly appearing or permanent obstacles
  • Cornering on slippery roads and in other potentially dangerous situations
  • Braking and swerving while going downhill; changing lanes
